Για φαγητό στον Κρίθαμο

Έχουμε πλέον πάει μπόλικες φορές για φαγητό στον Κρίθαμο, στο Νέο Ψυχικό, και μπορώ να σας πω μετά βεβαιότητος ότι τον έχω πετύχει σε όλες τις δυνατές του "φάσεις", π.χ. μεσημέρι, βράδυ, με πολύ κόσμο, πιο ήρεμα, κλπ. Όπως επίσης μπορώ να πω με μεγάλη δόση σιγουριάς ότι έχω δοκιμάσει (κάποιες φορές και από πιάτα φίλων) ένα πολύ μεγάλο ποσοστό των φαγητών που έχει στον κατάλογο. Και με βάση όλα τα παραπάνω, συνεχίζουμε να πηγαίνουμε τακτικά με μεγάλη ευχαρίστηση.

Ο Κρίθαμος είναι ουσιαστικά μία σύγχρονη ταβέρνα με μεσογειακό προσανατολισμό (και μάλιστα με κλίση προς το Νότιο Αιγαίο). Η κουζίνα του έχειει μπόλικη φαντασία και χρησιμοποιεί αμιγώς Ελληνικές πρώτες ύλες με πολύ καλά αποτελέσματα. Φοβάμαι ότι θα σας ανοίξω την όρεξη απαριθμώντας σας κάποια από τα πιάτα που ξεχωρίζω... Θα το κάνω όμως, έτσι κι αλλιώς. Έχουμε και λέμε λοιπόν: Ξεκινάμε με κανταΐφι με 4 τυριά και γλυκιά σάλτσα από σταφύλι, πιττάκια (στον κατάλογο τα λένε "κοπέλες")γεμιστά με χορταρικά, νόστιμους ντοματοκεφτέδες, τάρτα με τυρί Ταλαγάνι (λευκό τυρί που μοιάζει σε χαλούμι ή και φορμαέλα) και ντοματάκια Cherry, καθώς και σαγανάκι επίσης με Ταλαγάνι και σουσάμι πάνω σε πίττα. Επίσης πολύ καλή (καινούρια) προσθήκη στο μενού είναι τα λεγόμενα "παλικάρια" (γίγαντες) με παστουρμά, που έχουν βουτηχτεί σε κουρκούτι και έχουν τηγανιστεί.

Από τα κύρια πιάτα ξεχωρίζω το (θηριώδες) μοσχαρίσιο κότσι που έχει σιγοψηθεί με γλυκιά σάλτσα και "λιώνει" στο πηρούνι (προσοχή όμως, θρέφει δυο-τρεις, ακόμα και στα δικά μου κυβικά), αλλά και τις νοστιμότατες Κορτεζίνες (στα μέρη μου τις λέμε Spare Ribs), που έχουν ψηθεί με μέλι και θυμάρι. Επίσης πολύ καλή επιλογή (σε κάτι πιο απλό) τα μπιφτέκια με μανιτάρια και το φιλέτο κοτόπουλο σχάρας. Αν πάτε κι εσείς στον Κρίθαμο θα συμφωνήσετε, νομίζω, ότι οι τηγανητές του πατάτες είναι ότι πιο κοντινό υπάρχει σε σπιτικές.

Για τις σαλάτες, αν και ξέρετε ότι δεν με πολυ-απασχολούν, μπορώ να σας πω ότι είναι αρκετά προσεγμένες και περιεκτικές, και σίγουρα θεωρώ το βραστό σταμναγκάθι (που σερβίρεται με χοντρό θαλασσινό αλάτι και λεμόνι) πολύ ωραίο συνοδευτικό για κάθε πιάτο. Συμπαθητικά και τα γλυκά (αν και σπάνια μένει χώρος), τα οποία δεν ακολουθούν πιστά την "Μεσογειακότητα" της κουζίνας, με εξαίρεση τα (πολύ καλά) μυζηθροπιτάκια με μέλι, που σερβίρονται με παγωτό.

Η λίστα των κρασιών είναι αυστηρά Ελληνική και περιλαμβάνει αρκετές και καλές επιλογές σε λογικές τιμές. Το service είναι καλό και σχετικά σβέλτο, αν και λίγο απρόσωπο. Το περιβάλλον όμορφο, καθαρό και προσεγμένο. Πολύ βασικό το γεγονός ότι (αν και ο χώρος δεν χωρίζεται σε καπνιζόντων και μη) δεν υπάρχει πρόβλημα κάπνας, και η διαρρύθμιση είναι αρκετά άνετη. Κάτι βασικό είναι ότι χρειάζεται λίγο προσοχή στο parking, γιατί η περιοχή είναι κάπως προβληματική, οπότε είναι πολύ τυχερός όποιος βρίσκει και παρκάρει σχετικά κοντά. Τέλος, υπολογίστε ότι για να φάει κανείς καλά (με κρασί και γλυκό) στον Κρίθαμο, θα πληρώσει πάνω-κάτω €45.

Νομίζω σας τα είπα όλα. Ο Κρίθαμος προτείνεται ανεπιφύλακτα. Θα τον βρείτε στο Νέο Ψυχικό, στις βόρειες παρυφές του, κοντά στο Πεντάγωνο (Μπουμπουλίνας & Ν. Παρίτση / 210-6728790-1).

Gosh, it's been busy around here. Between work initiatives, holiday parties, shopping, wrapping, and being a mom, there wasn't much time left over.
